Founded in 1998, REVA Medical is dedicated to developing minimally invasive medical devices that leverage the Company’s proprietary biomaterial and stent technologies to improve the treatment of disease. Guided by a management team and scientific advisors with extensive product development and clinical interventional cardiology experience, REVA’s initial focus is the development of an innovative drug-eluting bioresorbable coronary stent and the commencement of clinical studies that will advance the treatment of coronary artery disease.

REVA also has resources and technology available to develop additional medical devices and support out-licensing for applications that include other vascular conditions, trauma care and orthopedics.

Cardiovascular Stent Market Potential
In 2008, more than two million patients with coronary artery disease received permanently implanted metal coronary stents creating a global market for this widely accepted and proven medical device in excess of $5.0 billion. Drug-eluting bioresorbable stents have been identified by industry experts as the next major advancement in interventional technology for the minimally invasive treatment of coronary artery disease.

The ReZolve™ Bioresorbable Coronary Stent

The Bioresorbable Stent
The ReZolve™ Bioresorbable Coronary Stent integrates a drug-eluting polymer and a robust design to provide the proven benefits of a metal stent without being a permanent implant. Incorporating REVA’s proprietary ReZorb™ Polymer and exclusive "slide & lock" technology, the ReZolve stent is intended to restore blood flow and support the vessel through remodeling, then completely resorb from the body. Compared to metal stents, the ReZolve stent could minimize complications and the need for long-term dual anti-platelet therapy while maintaining all options for subsequent interventional treatment.
