REVA Medical’s talented executive management team has extensive depth and breadth of experience working with start-up and development companies in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device fields.

Robert K. Schultz, PhD has been President and COO of REVA Medical since 2003. His background comprises more than 25 years in pharmaceutical, medical device and combination products. Prior to joining REVA Medical, Dr. Schultz held positions of Vice President of Research and Development and Vice President of Technology Strategy and Licensing for Dura Pharmaceuticals and Research Specialist for 3M Pharmaceuticals. He obtained his PhD in Pharmaceutics and his BS degree in Pharmacy from the University of Minnesota.

Katrina Thompson brings more than 25 years of experience to her role as Vice President of Finance and Administration. Prior to joining REVA Medical in 2003, Ms. Thompson held senior positions in the telecom, real estate development, commercial nursery and high tech industries and spent the early part of her career with Price Waterhouse, where she earned her CPA; she has also earned her CMA. Ms. Thompson received her BS in Business Administration from San Diego State University.

Eric Schmid is Vice President of Engineering and Stent Development and has more than 15 years of experience in medical device design and development. Before joining REVA Medical, he developed novel products and technologies for companies including Abbott Laboratories, Guidant, Medtronic and Boston Scientific. Mr. Schmid completed graduate studies in Chemical Engineering at the University of California San Diego, has a BS in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College and holds multiple patents related to medical devices and technologies.

Joan Zeltinger, PhD is Vice President of Scientific Affairs at REVA Medical and has 18 years of industry research and business experience that includes numerous publications and patents. Dr. Zeltinger previously directed Advanced Tissue Sciences’ bioresorbable coronary graft and tissue engineered heart valve programs and chaired ASTM standard development for combination medical products. She received a PhD in Biology from the University of South Carolina with post-doctoral work conducted at the University of Washington, School of Medicine, and has a BS in Biology from the University of North Dakota.

Don Brandom, PhD is the Vice President of Biomaterials Product Development and has directed REVA Medical’s biomaterials activities since 2003. During his 18 years of industry experience, he has held management and product development positions in the aerospace materials, microelectronics materials and medical device industries. Dr. Brandom earned his PhD in Materials Engineering Science at Virginia Tech and has a BS in Chemistry from the University of California Davis.

Cheryl Liberatore brings 15 years of medical device experience to her role as Director of Corporate Development. Prior to joining REVA Medical, Ms. Liberatore held product management and marketing communications positions at “A” Company Orthodontics and Medtronic where she was responsible for new product development and branding, development of strategic marketing plans, and directing worldwide marketing communications activities. She received her BA degree in psychology from San Diego State University.
